What we collect

We collect the following when you join the waitlist. Simply visiting the website only produces the visit statistics and security counts described below.

• Contact details: the phone number or email you enter or, if you join with Google or Apple, the verified email and account identifier they return.
• Waitlist record: how you joined, your interface language, when you joined and your marketing consent status (off by default).
• Referral data: the channel tag in the link you opened (utm_source or ref) and the domain of the referring site, not its full URL.
• Visit statistics: daily visit counts per channel, not linked to you or your waitlist record.
• Verification data: codes are stored only as hashes and expire after 10 minutes. Verification records and temporary sign-in records are cleared after they expire.
• Security data: to prevent abuse, we count requests using one-way hashes of IP addresses and contact details. We don't store those IP addresses in plain text, and the counts are cleared after about two days. Our hosting infrastructure may also briefly process IP addresses and request details to deliver the service.

What we don't collect

We don't ask for your name, age, location or payment details, and we don't use advertising or third-party analytics tools.

Apple Watch app

• The app reads the watch's motion sensors to detect taps and play notes. Motion signals are processed in real time on the watch. They are never uploaded, and release builds don't record them.
• Your tap mode preference is stored on the watch and is removed when you delete the app.
• The app has no accounts, advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs, and it isn't linked to the waitlist.
• If you join the beta through TestFlight, diagnostics and feedback are handled through Apple's testing process.

How we use information

We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.

• To confirm the contact details belong to you and hold your place on the list.
• To notify you when Tapiano opens access.
• To understand visits and sign-ups from each channel.
• To prevent abuse and keep the service secure.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run the service, with these providers:

• Zeabur: hosts the website and services, and sends verification emails.
• Tencent Cloud: sends verification text messages to your phone number.
• Google and Apple: verify your identity, only if you choose to join with their accounts.

Cookies and local storage

We only use necessary cookies: NEXT_LOCALE remembers your language for up to one year, and a 10-minute binding cookie protects third-party sign-in. The admin area has a separate session cookie used only by administrators. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.

Referral data is held in sessionStorage for the current browser session and sent when you submit.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist record until the waitlist ends or you ask us to delete it. Verification records and security counts are cleared automatically on the timelines above.

Daily visit statistics contain no personal information and are kept long term.

Your choices

You can email us to access or delete your waitlist record, or to withdraw your consent. To change your contact details, delete your record and join again with the new details. We'll act on your request as soon as we can after verifying it's you. Deleted records can't be recovered, and your place on the list won't be kept.

Security

We send data over HTTPS, store verification codes as hashes and restrict waitlist data to administrators. No system is perfectly secure; if a security incident occurs, we'll notify you as the law requires.

International processing

The providers above may process information outside your country or region. If you join with Google or Apple, the related information is sent to those providers, which may be located abroad.

Children

The waitlist isn't intended for children under 14, or a higher age set by your region. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child submitted information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Testimonials on our website link to platforms such as Xiaohongshu, Douyin and Reddit. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
